Women's Ministries
Greetings! My name is Selica and I, along with my sisters-in-Christ Joanne and Ethlyn, co-lead the Takoma Park Women’s Ministries. This ministry was started by women of our Church that identified a need to offer spiritual nurturing for our entire congregation, as well as the Takoma Park community at-large. As a consequence, our ministry has grown to fill several needs. We strive to reach out to women who, for whatever reason, no longer attend church…this church or any other church. We call this mission, “Heart Call.” We also take a great joy in the programs we offer including Sunday afternoon teas, prayer breakfasts, and an annual women’s ministries day program. This year we participated in the first Takoma Park Church Black History month celebration.
We are also a service organization, providing support for the Takoma Park Firefighters and Police officers. Our ministry visits and provides care for the sick and shut-in. We have newly developed a special program we call the “Card Ministry.” We send cards to our fellow Church members for birthdays, encouragement, sympathy, and for various other reasons and occasions. Our goal
is to make sure that no one at this Church fells left out or discounted. We are blessed to have a great team, but we can always use your help. We’d love to have you join us.
