Welcome!  My name is Alan DeSilva.  I am the pastor of the Takoma Park Seventh-day Adventist Church.  Thank you for taking time to visit our new and improved website.  I sincerely hope this is your first step towards coming and visiting with us.  I would like to take a moment and tell you a bit about us.  The Takoma Park Church is located on the border of Washington, DC and Takoma Park, MD at 6951 Carroll Avenue, Takoma Park, MD.  As a church family, we have been a proud member of both communities for more than 100 years.  As a church, we believe that the Bible is the inerrant, inspired word of God.  We believe in the Ten Commandments.  Indeed, the fact that we have worship services on the seventh day of the week, which the Bible calls the Sabbath, comes directly from the Ten Commandments, as well as other sources in both the Old and New Testaments.  Most importantly, we believe in Jesus.  We believe that Jesus was God made flesh, that He lived a life without sin, and that He died to atone for the sins of the entire human race.  We believe that this sacrifice had the power to save us from the penalty of sin.  Probably most important, we believe that Jesus will return.  We look forward to that day and plan to serve our neighbors until the moment He comes.

These beliefs have captivated the hearts and minds of the many diverse people that attend this Church.  Since 1904, this Church has been both sanctuary and haven for the many that come through these doors.  Further, what draws members and visitors alike are the many worship services, programs, concerts, and activities, we hold throughout the year.  If you have never been here before, or you haven’t been here in a while, please make plans to pay us a visit.  We have something here for everyone.  I am sure you will have an uplifting experience.  I look forward to meeting you when you come!
